United Methodists join weekend action to stop deportations
WASHINGTON (UMNS) — During the weekend of April 5-6, many prayers were said for immigrant families torn apart by deportations. United Methodists joined with other faith groups and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network in a weekend of action to ask President Obama for temporary suspension of deportations, which will soon reach 2 million.

Event highlights communications tech in poverty fight
NEW YORK (UMNS) — United Methodist Church staff and their partners are speaking at the XIV Infopoverty World Conference 2014, April 10-11, on using communications technology to combat poverty. The Rev. Neelley Hicks, United Methodist Communications, will speak during sessions from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. ET April 10 and 9:30 a.m. to noon April 11. The Rev.
