BIRMINGHAM, Ala. John Archibald, a writer for Alabama Media Group, recently won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for commentary. He’s a member of Birmingham’s Highlands United Methodist Church. He’s also a son, nephew, grandson and great-grandson of Methodist pastors.

COLUMBIA, S.C.  When floods claimed the ceiling of historic Wesley United Methodist Church here, nearby Main Street United Methodist Church offered space for worship and ministries. Thus began what has become a close relationship between a mostly African-American congregation and a mostly white one. Jessica Brodie reports.
