Struggling with migration, deportation in Honduras
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (UMNS) — “Staying might kill you, but leaving might also.” That sentiment is expressed by many Hondurans, including United Methodist families, who agonize daily about that choice. They can stay amid violence and struggles to earn a living or embark on a dangerous, three-month journey crossing the Guatemalan, Mexican and United States borders. Carlos S. Young Clergy Initiative grants announced
NASHVILLE, TENN.(UMNS) — The United Methodist Board of Higher Education and Ministry has announced the awarding of another 21 Young Clergy Initiative grants. The 2012 General Conference created a $7 million fund to award grants to programs that might help boost the number of young United Methodist clergy. The 2016 General Conference designated another $7 million to continue the initiative.

NCC starts Hindu, Buddhist dialogues
LOS ANGELES — Partnering with The Guibord Center, the National Council of Churches has initiated a national Hindu-Christian Dialogue and a national Buddhist-Christian Dialogue. These new dialogues join others with Jews and Muslims that have long been a part of the council's work in interreligious relations and collaboration. The United Methodist Church is a member of the NCC.
