University in Liberia raises $15,000 for relocation
MONROVIA, Liberia — The National Legislature of Liberia donated more than $10,000 U.S. to United Methodist University of Liberia’s #GivingTuesday campaign. The money will go toward moving the campus to 50 acres in Doemah’s Town. The Guarantee Trust Bank in Liberia also donated $5,000 to the program. E Julu Swen has the story.

Church agencies open Manila office
MANILA, Philippines (UMNS) — United Methodist agencies will have an increased presence in the Philippines with the opening of a ministry center in the nation’s capital. Philippines bishops and guests joined staff with the Board of Global Ministries and United Methodist Communications in dedicating the Agency Mission Center on Dec. 18. JALINGO, Nigeria (UMNS) — “African women lack certain rights, both in the church and society, because they are considered weak and less human,” writes the Rev. Eunice Iliya, hospital chaplain at Jalingo United Methodist Hospital. However, she said, “God blessed both man and woman and charged them both to have dominion over the earth.” Her commentary is part of “Many Voices, One Faith,” which brings together diverse perspectives on topics related to faith and the church.
