Addressing COVID-19 misinformation in rural Congo

HAUT-LOMAMI PROVINCE, Congo (UM News) — Nearly 500 North Katanga Conference clergy and lay members met to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on ministry and to address misinformation in rural areas. The participants were encouraged to follow safety protocols and share information in their communities. The Rev. Betty Kazadi Musau reports.

Food pantry grows to meet growing need 

ACWORTH, Ga. — Acworth United Methodist Church has operated a food pantry every Tuesday for many years, serving about 30 families per week. But since the pandemic upended lives, the pantry has grown to help as many as 400 families weekly. Sybil Davidson has the story.

Course explores communicating amid change

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — March 2 is the deadline to register for United Methodist Communications’ “Communicating During Seasons of Change” four-week online course. The training will take place 1-2 p.m. U.S. Central time Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 7 to April 1. Supplemental resources and discussions will be provided each week.
