New York Conference dismisses Ogletree case
WHITE PLAINS,N.Y. (UMNS) — The announcement of a "just resolution" by the United Methodist New York Annual (regional) Conference dismissed a complaint against the Rev. Thomas Ogletree for performing the same-sex wedding ceremony of his son and served as a call by Bishop Martin D. McLee to end trials for such complaints.

Bishop Palmer challenges churches to ‘reclaim children’
WORTHINGTON, Ohio (UMNS) — Ohio West Area Bishop Gregory V. Palmer of the West Ohio Area has challenged churches to double the number of Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools to 26 by 2016. The schools provide a six-week summer experience that helps children learn to love reading, increase self-esteem and generates positive attitudes toward learning.
