Native ministry experiences rebirth
PORTLAND, Ore. (UMNS) — When the Rev. Allen Buck, a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, first heard about Wilshire United Methodist Native American Fellowship, it was on a list to be closed. YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. (AP) — A governor and senator, friend and counselor to presidents, Zell Miller walked the marbled halls of American power. Friends remembered him more simply as a “Methodist and Marine.” He also famously crossed party lines to support the re-election of President George W. Bush, a fellow United Methodist.
