Conference charts ‘way forward’ with LGBTQ people 

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (UM News) — The Greater New Jersey Conference voted to allow churches to include and affirm LGBTQ people by forming covenant relationships, while still giving congregations the right to agree to disagree. Kathy L. Gilbert reports.

Young people in Liberia raise money for scholarships
MONROVIA, Liberia (UM News) — Young United Methodists raised 500,000 local dollars (about $2,500 U.S.) to send needy youth to school. The move came a few months after the Liberia Conference announced that recruiting young people to the ministries of the church is a major part of its strategic plan for the next five years. Motorcycle ride raises money for Mozambique

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Motorcycle enthusiasts led by Missouri Area Bishop Robert “Bob” Farr recently took a ride to raise money to buy motorcycles for Mozambique pastors. Ministers there need motorcycles to get around in areas with poor roads and little public transportation.
