Global Ministries meetings focus on mission in Africa
MAPUTO, Mozambique (UM News) — The board of United Methodist Global Ministries met for the first time outside the U.S. to collaborate with African United Methodists on mission work and the shared goal of helping the church in Africa become self-sustaining. During the board meeting, $5 million in funding was approved for the Yambasu Agriculture Initiative. Jim Patterson has the story.

East Ohio Conference
9 small churches step up for Ukraine
NORTH CANTON, Ohio — People suffering because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine will get nearly 5,000 meals thanks to the efforts of nine rural churches in the East Ohio Conference. The initiative started at New Concord United Methodist Church, and others were inspired to contribute. More than 150 volunteers from the churches and two high schools worked over 1,100 hours to pack rice meal bags. Linda Morrow reports.

Board supports resolutions, endowment fund
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — At its spring meeting, the board of the United Methodist Board of Church and Society approved submitting 36 resolutions to the coming General Conference for readoption. The board also approved a new endowment fund named after the Rev. Susan Henry-Crowe, who retired after 48 years in ministry, including eight years as the agency’s top executive.
