NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UM News) — With COVID-19 forcing churches to move to online worship, many are concerned about finding music they can legally use on the internet. To help, two United Methodist clergy recorded and shared free hymns and special music that can be used during the Lenten season and on Easter Sunday. The Rev. Thomas E. Kim reports.

TOPEKA, Kan. — While United Methodists help with vaccine distribution, the need for COVID-19 testing continues. Three western Kansas churches will host testing for the coronavirus as part of a pilot program with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. David Burke has the story.

LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. — The World Methodist Museum, shut for almost a year because of the pandemic, plans to close permanently. The World Methodist Council announced on Page 6 of its First Friday Letter that the museum on the campus of Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center is in the process of finding new homes for its artifacts.

Spanish flu survivor gets COVID-19 vaccine
EUGENE, Ore. — Bernice Homan, a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a survivor of the 1918 influenza pandemic, got her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine recently at age 103. "I think we should stop it from spreading any more than it is and do everything we can. We're saving lives,” she said in an interview. Jillian Smukler has the story.

The National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA, whose top executive is United Methodist Jim Winkler, also denounced the coup. Methodists have a presence in the country.
