Reviewing gender equality in the news
TORONTO — The World Association for Christian Communication, a partner of United Methodist Women and the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries, sponsors a worldwide monitoring of how women and girls are represented in news media. The latest report, which includes data from 116 countries, found that 25% of news subjects and sources are women and girls. This marks the first increase since 2010 and is most visible in broadcast news media. The United Methodist Women's Faith Talks webinar (at 2 p.m. U.S. Eastern time July 15) will discuss the results.

AMERICUS, Ga. — The Grateful Threads Quilting Guild has gathered weekly for the past several years to sew, stitch and create as many quilts as possible to give away to others — most recently veterans. COVID-19 doesn't stop church from expanding
KATY, Texas — Even with financial challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Peter's United Methodist Church managed to construct a building for a second campus. The church broke ground in May 2020 and had a grand opening this past March. Some 300 people are worshipping at the second campus, including 19 new members.
