Theologian Ogden pushed himself and his students
DALLAS (UM News) — The Rev. Schubert Ogden earned broad recognition as an important United Methodist theologian. But at Perkins School of Theology he was a taskmaster, known for pushing students to think deeply and clearly. Ogden died June 6 at age 91. Sam Hodges reports.

NAIROBI, Kenya (UM News) — The United Methodist Church in Kenya is empowering its members and the community at large with the opening of the new United Methodist Church Savings and Credit Co-Operative Society. Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary
Garrett-Evangelical launches new study program
EVANSTON, Ill. — Students at United Methodist Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary can earn a certificate of completion in one of five areas of study and up to 15 credit hours toward a degree program for $425 per credit hour. The ecumenical programs are child advocacy, Christian education, evangelism and church planting, music ministry, and spiritual formation and direction.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Peace with Justice Sunday helps the church have a voice in advocating for peace and justice through a broad spectrum of programs. Traditionally observed the first Sunday after Pentecost, or June 16 this year, churches may choose any day to observe this special Sunday with offerings.
