United Methodists enrich health care in Africa
HARARE, Zimbabwe (UM News) — Two United Methodists are making their mark on health care in Africa as leading cardiothoracic and pediatric orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Kudzai Kanyepi and Dr. Tongai Chitsamatanga are members of Chisipiti United Methodist Church in Harare, and Chitsamatanga spent six years at United Methodist-related Mutambara Mission Hospital. Shelter for homeless women, children set to open
MOBILE, Ala. — Homeless women and children in Baldwin County will soon have a place to seek shelter. The Baldwin County Family Village dedicated its new 13-bedroom transitional home June 5. Under the direction of the Dumas Wesley Community Center and spearheaded by Fairhope United Methodist Church, the program will be able to accommodate up to 30 people and serve about 100 per year.
