New JFON clinics support unaccompanied minors
METHUEN, Mass. — Navigating the U.S. immigration process is daunting for anyone, but it’s even harder for youth who arrive without their families. Unaccompanied minors coming to the U.S. now have some extra assistance through the New England Justice for Our Neighbors’ newest legal clinics housed in United Methodist churches in Lowell and Lawrence. The clinics provide free legal services to low-income immigrants.

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference is working alongside event planners for the July 10-14 Youth 2019 event in Kansas City to bring a teaching moment about Native American mascots. “We are bringing Native youth to the conference to participate in a panel to specifically address how Native mascots impact their lives as young people,” said the Rev. David Wilson.

LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. — The Summer Worship Series at Lake Junaluska runs June 9 to Aug. 4. With the theme “Psalms of Our Times,” the series includes spirited traditional worship services led by guest speakers including Bishops Kenneth H. Carter, Florida Conference, and Paul L. Leeland, Western North Carolina Conference. Students from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington will write select liturgies.
