KANAPOLIS, Kan. — Kanapolis United Methodist Church averages about 28 in attendance on Sundays. But on April 28, the tiny church baptized almost half that number: 12 children from the Sunday school class and one 16-month-old toddler. David Burke reports.

DURHAM, N.C. — People in Durham found a unique way to oppose The United Methodist Church’s stance on homosexuality and support members of the LGBTQ community. They packed Calvary United Methodist Church April 28 for an event called "Drag Me to Church" — a family-friendly drag show and silent auction that raised $5,000 for iNSIDEoUT180, a local LGBTQ youth organization. THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Following the passage of the Traditional Plan at the 2019 General Conference, there is talk in more progressive circles about resisting the decision and hoping that more conservative United Methodists decide to leave the denomination. The Rev. Thomas Lambrecht, vice president of Good News, said it would not make sense for traditionalists to abandon the denomination after it affirmed traditional standards on marriage and sexuality.
