7 United Methodist seminaries recognized
CHICAGO — Seven United Methodist seminaries have made the 2018-19 list of U.S. “Seminaries that Change the World.” The Center for Faith and Service, a think tank based at Presbyterian-related McCormick Theological Seminary, produces the list. The United Methodist institutions listed are Boston University School of Theology, Drew Theological School, Duke Divinity School, Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Iliff School of Theology and Wesley Theological Seminary.

Pension agency touts new low-carbon investment strategy
GLENVIEW, Ill. — Wespath Benefits and Investments and BlackRock Inc. have launched a new approach to low-carbon investing. The “transition ready” strategy will focus investments on companies that are best suited and most successful during the coming transition to a low-carbon economy based on concerns about climate change. Wespath, which invests over $23 billion on behalf of United Methodist pension participants and institutions, has committed $750 million across U.S. domestic and international equity market accounts.
