Partnership with East Angola celebrates 20 years
QUÉSSUA, Angola (UM News) — When Bishop Warner H. Brown was elected in 2000, he challenged churches in his episcopal area to provide salary support to clergy in the East Angola Conference. Today, the Mountain Sky Conference provides $50 a month to over 100 clergy and funds an agricultural program overseen by a missionary. Joey Butler reports.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
ATLANTA — To mark Hispanic Heritage Month, the Rev. Dr. Lydia Muñoz writes about efforts by The United Methodist Church to include the diverse cultures of Latinx people in its tapestry. That includes the founding of Methodists Associated Representing the Cause of Hispanic Americans in 1971, and the National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry in 1992. Hispanic Heritage Month is Sept. 15-Oct. 15.

PACE, Fla. — The Way United Methodist Church has scheduled the Circle of Friends women’s conference for 6 to 8 p.m. U.S. Eastern time Oct. 20. The gathering aims to promote unity in The United Methodist Church and strong bonds among Christian women. The Rev. Kitsy Dixon, a United Methodist pastor, will be the speaker. The event, which includes dinner, costs $12.
