HARARE, Zimbabwe (UM News) — Theologian and traditional African leader Reuben Marinda of the Chiwara dynasty is a Zimbabwean leader in raising awareness with men and boys in the fight against HIV and AIDS. The training that The United Methodist Church invested in Marinda — or Chief Chiwara — is paying off, said Bishop Eben K. Nhiwatiwa. The Rev. Taurai Emmanuel Maforo has the story.

Chicago church vandalized again
CHICAGO — A second case of vandalism at Lincoln United Methodist Church is being treated as a hate crime, said the Rev. Emma Lozano. On Oct. 15, a man who was attempting to enter the locked church reportedly kicked the glass front door, shattering it before fleeing as he shouted racial slurs while giving the Nazi salute, witnesses said. FORT COLLINS, Colo. — First United Methodist Church has made the renovation of a neighborhood park with a bad reputation the focus of celebrating its 150th anniversary. According to the church’s research, it is the oldest continuous worship community in the city.
