Efforts to save Lake Junaluska bridge
LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. — The Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center bridge has served travelers for more than 100 years. In 2016, the bridge was closed due to deteriorating steel support beams. This summer, the center’s board voted to restore the bridge to vehicular and pedestrian traffic, a project estimated to cost more than $1 million.

Garrett professor leads theology society
EVANSTON, Ill. — The Rev. Trina Armstrong, an assistant professor at United Methodist Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, has been named president and chair of the Society for Pastoral Theology. She is also an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

New Wineskins Conference — The Missouri Conference is hosting a time of structured learning and candid conversation for conference leaders and church planters from across the United States. The gathering will be at Salem United Methodist Church, 1200 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis.
