Church members among 19 dead in Congo massacre
GOMA, Congo (UM News) — Six United Methodists were among 19 civilians killed in a massacre in Mamove that has been blamed on the Allied Democratic Forces, an armed rebel group that operates in Eastern Congo and Uganda. The dead were remembered at the Kivu Annual Conference. Philippe Kituka Lolonga reports.

Mission partnership goes on despite COVID-19
LODI, Wis. — The coronavirus has challenged but not defeated the mission partnership of Lodi United Methodist Church with the people of Sandy Lake in Ontario, Canada. Sandy Lake, an indigenous community reachable only by plane, was able to have vacation Bible school for children using its local radio station in July and August. Usually, church members travel there to teach.

Charred Bible ignites faith after church fire
HUGER, S.C. — Flames destroyed much of the historic sanctuary of New Hope United Methodist Church, but the pastor sees God at work in the fact the pulpit Bible, while charred, is still readable. The church, organized in 1837, was on the National Register of Historic Places. Jessica Brodie has the story.
