Warning: Scammers still using bishop names
PIEDMONT, S.C. (UMNS) - The scammers using the names of United Methodist bishops are still in action. United Methodist leaders will never call you over the phone to ask for help, even in an emergency. President credits pastor for White House run
DALLAS (UMNS) - Former President George W. Bush credits his decision to run for the White House to a 1998 sermon he heard from the Rev. Mark Craig, recently retired from Highland Park United Methodist Church here. "There were no mysterious voices whispering in my ears, just Mark Craig's high-pitched Texas twang coming from the pulpit," Bush said at an event honoring Craig and raising funds for a new trauma center at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
