'FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE WITH BEVERLY BURKE'
AIRS SUNDAY, JULY 15 AT 2 P.M. (ET) XM CHANNEL 155

WASHINGTON DC, July 13, 2007 - The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) will be featured on XM Radio's "For Heaven's Sake with Beverly Burke" at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 15 at 2 p.m. (ET) on channel 155.

The hour-long show comes on the heels of UMCOR's landmark global partnership signing in London with Muslim Aid on June 26.|

The Muslim Aid partnership is a unique relationship between organizations representing differing faiths and cultures. It is one of UMCOR's most significant international partnerships.

Bishop Edward Paup of Seattle, President of UMCOR, the Rev. R. Randy Day, General Secretary of Global Ministries, and Marc Maxi, Executive Director of UMCOR appear on the show. They will share with listeners how this inter-religious partnership will not only provide maximum response to global disasters, but will also represent a unique cross-cultural, faith-centered model for other religious and secular organizations to follow. They will also talk of their experiences with tsunami relief in Sri Lanka and other global missions such as those in Sudan.

Another segment will focus on UMCOR's U.S. disaster relief ministries. Tom Hazelwood, Executive Secretary for Disaster Response, and Jim Cox, Executive Director for Katrina Aid Today, will share stories of relief and development efforts after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, as well as other relief missions underway across the nation.

"For Heaven's Sake with Beverly Burke" features interviews about spirituality, faith, and ministries of all kinds and discusses how these issues affect our daily lives. Burke is not only an acclaimed radio personality; her movie and TV credits include "Seven", "Enemy of the State", "Homicide: Life on the Street", and "The Wire". The segment featuring UMCOR will be rebroadcast at 1 a.m. (ET) on Monday, July 16 on channel 155.
