Florence cleanup continues in S.C.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — While South Carolina “dodged a bullet” when Hurricane Michael struck, cleanup efforts from Hurricane Florence continue. Some of the worst hit were in rural, poor communities in Dillon, Horry and Marlboro counties. Jessica Brodie reports.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Guests and observers to the 2019 special General Conference can now pre-register online. Registration is required to attend the General Conference sessions, which will be held in St. Louis Feb. 23-26. Early registration is available through Jan. 31.

United Methodist churches on fastest-growing list

THE VILLAGES, Fla. — New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages is 71st on Outreach Magazine’s list of 100 fastest-growing churches. Other United Methodist churches on this year’s list include Christ Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois, at 54 and Providence Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, at 62. A previous digest item did not include New Covenant.
